Friday's Fun and Games

So yesterday I met Jeff at his cafe and we went out to Johns for a BBQ. We had yummy sausage, hamburgers, corn on the cob and cesar salad. Yummy! Frank also stopped in and entertained us with some music, and we went for a swim later on. The water was chilly but, of course, we didn't care. Angus really showed up the rest of us. He was the first one in and last out! The pictures are from after we came in from swimming...the kids helping Frank and Jeff play piano, Angus and I having some cuddle time, John and Angus with the sparkler, John, Angus and Ewen enjoying some spin time. Oh and some pics of Jeff's cafe that he works at, which has a great atmosphere and really good (although dangerous) latte's. Yum.

Yey Prom!

So my little cousin Heather is graduating from highschool this year (single tear) and I can't be there for the grand march/graduation ceremonies because of work. However I'm getting picture updates as they happen. First picture update: Heathers hairdo for the prom! She did it herself and it looks awesome. My next update best be a pic of Heather putting the boutineer on Jeff! I'm very proud of my baby cuz.

Update with Pics

So I finally got my router attachec (thanks for the tips John!!!) John informed me that I can just attach my cord (the one attached to the other router) to my wireless router which means I didn't have to wait for the fella to do it at his computer. YEY!

So now I can post some pics. They are from Amanda's wedding, her and Ryan with their son Matthew. The rest are from my visit at Jean's with Neal and Shizuka (and Lindsay...unfortunately she went to sleep before I got any pics so I'll have to wait for Neal to post his) Congrats to Jean who's pregnant! I hope this doesn't mean I'm next...

We also got to meet Jeff's girlfriend Kim who's awesome too...welcome to the family! It was great to meet Shizuka too who's life I have been following for a good year now via Neals Blog. It was so nice to get to talk to her in person.

And I have a pic of a cruise ship that I think might be a norwegion...There was a carnival in there too but I didn't get a chance to get a pic of that. I did scream when I saw it though...it was the victory. Looking forward to our cruise this year.

Greetings From Halifax

hmmm...I think I might have used that one before but I can't remember. I thought I should post even though I don't have any pictures right now. Well I have some, just forgot the cord to connect the camera. Oops. Right now I am at Jeff's cafe netting it because my apartment does not have a wireless router right now. I'm having mine sent up so I can connect from home (thanks mom&dad).

So far my time here is going well. Yesterday was my first real day on the floor where I actually interacted with clients. We had two kids an then another admission which kept us busy. I really like it there. I'm getting use to the place I'm staying at and the people as well. They're all really nice.

My friend Shannon just moved here as well so we've been hanging out. This is the first time we were in the same town/city since we both graduated so it's really nice that we are now. The other night we went to Jean's apartment to see Neal and meet Shizuka and Lindsay. I have pictures from that and will post them soon enough. We also met Jean's boyfriend Rob and Jeff's girlfriend Kim. Both very nice people. Tonight I do my first night shift, another one tomorrow and then I'm off for five days which will be nice. I'm doing my recert on Thursday and then on Friday I think I might go out to John's for the day to hang out with Dana and the kids. I'm also looking forward to doing some Canada Day things.

Today there is a cruise boat in the harbour, a Norwegion I believe. I might try to get a picture of it but it's hard to see. I was driving down Ingliss and I saw some windows...I thought "that's a cruise ship" and I was right. I'm looking forward to our trip this year.

That's all for now though. I'll post some pics soon.

Teddy Bear Nurse

It's always important when you have a teddy bear picnic to have some able bodied nurses on hand to care for them when they get hurt, or in this case some able bodied nursing students with two wonderful instructors to watch our progress.

Today was the IWK telethon which brodcasts over the maritimes and raises money for the IWK Children's Hospital (where I am going to work in a week!!!) It was a pretty good turnout although it was cloudy most of the day and got pretty cold after two. The minute we got there we adopted some teddys who needed a good home, and fixed their wounds from their journey here.

We also went a little gauze crazy. Elizabeth and I did a Mission Impossible type gauze ambush on Judy, we then fixed up Screech the Screaming Eagle mascot. After that we decided Chad Denny, the hockey player, needed some fixin's. The picture I'm putting up right now doesn't really show all that we did to the poor boy, but once I get Judy's copy I'll put a better one up.
