Power Out!

So on Friday we took some clothes to crossroads, but the power was out at the school so I took some pictures of my instructors, who were all huddled in Shelia's office because she had windows and thus lights. Also a picture of John and Brenda in his office.

The girls did a presentation and told me not to blog this, but they don't read my blog so I'm going to put the pictures up anyway.

Yikes! Update Time

I really am turning into Marianne with this blogging! I went to blog the halloween pictures ages ago and they didn't load properly so I gave up for a later date. Now I have more pictures to put up and so you're getting a double post...Halloween and Pub Crawl....I mean...the nursing society NANDA approved community recreational assessment!

Halloween was a lot of fun. We went to Scott's cousin's party which was a blast. Among the commoners there was a mad scientist who was making concautions and getting people to drink them. It looked like baking soda and...something...not sure what.

We had our nanda approved pubcrawl this past friday. For those of you who don't know (non nursing type) NANDA is a something something that approves all nursing diagnosises. My rough guess (and I'm lazy tonight and can't be bothered to pull out the book to find out) is that it stands for national association of nursing diagnosis approval. Okay it actually stands for North American Nursing Diagnosis Association. I looked it up. oops. Anyway we made a nursing diagnosis on the back of our shirts and really had a good time. I had to work the next day, but that was okay. I added seaview to my list of places to be.

On more news, we had to put louie down last night. We found him hiding under a table, as if he was doing so to die without inturruption or else was in pain. So we took him and put him down. This was sad, but we couldn't have him suffer. He was a good cat and we enjoyed the short time we had with him

I am enjoying my clinical rotation right now, critical care. I have seen every tube possible go in someone's body, and was really able to use the information that I learned about sepsis, pancreatitis and other crazy things that make the body go wonky. I watched a bp go from 158/70 one hour to 60 systolic with the doppler the next. wowzers. I am sad to see that this rotation is ending because I've really enjoyed it.

PS: This is the first time I was ever able to make the pictures fit without wanting to throw the computer out the window...
