Louzilla and the Tent

I thought I'd take a break from my essay to post since I'm starting to get as slow as marianne. I'm writing a paper about role changes among parents and health care professional when dealing with chronically ill children. I need a title, that one is too long.

My dad brought home a palm tree for louie's island, but when it's there he looks like louzilla. Unfortunately you can't see the palm tree in the picture, but you can see the car I added to the scene. Lou played his part well. We also got him a tent which he really loves. He tried to help set it up, which just made the process that much harder. Once we finished he ripped the ball off the string. But he loves it anyway.

Rest Peacefully, Alex. You Were A Good Cat

It's not a good month to be my cat. Today I went outside to find that Alex had been hit by a car. Unfortunately she was gone when I found her, but by the looks of the injuries she would not have survived anyway. In order to keep her memory alive...the happy times....here's a list of strange and cute things she would do:
~When she was a kitten she would drink her milk out of the fridge, and she was so small she'd shiver because it was cold

~Lily would chase her (playing) and she would hide under the mat

~If she was outside in the night and wanted to come in she would climb up to my parents (second story) window and howl.

~After we built the railing around the step she would perch there like a parrot or something.

~When she was younger she would stare at the birds and make this strange noise, like she wanted to catch them. One day recently she tried to really catch a bird (picture posted)

~She also loved being on my lap when I was on the computer. She always kept me company at that time.

She will be missed as much as she was loved.

Message From Louie

Hey everyone, louie wanted to thank you all for expressing your concern, but he's a little busy right now as you can see. Since he was diagnosed with feline leukemia he can't go outside, so we open the window and my mom puts the green towel down for him to lay on. He likes it but it's not the same as going outside. We were thinking of making him a little cage he could go out in. We'll see. Next year he'll be an apartment cat anyway. He's good at taking his pills (he's on them for another week or so) and his jaundice is gone. His fur is growing back where he had his IV and blood taken, and he's back to jumping on my head at four in the morning. We're going to take the best care of him possible and hopefully he'll beat the odds and live longer than two years, if not his life will have been a good one anyway.

Run For The Cure...And School Stuff

I've been very tired lately, all related to school, work and that thing you do when you're not in school known as homework. We've got three or four group projects on the go right now...I really hate them and it's very hard to keep track of which group is for what project. The advice I received on this problem is to take them one at a time so I'm trying to do that. On better news, my clinical is going very well. I did meds today which went fine and I'm enjoying having Debbie on the floor again.

Anyway this week we all went to the run for the cure so I'm just going to post a couple of pictures for now and I'll add some later.
